Comments: Car has had a frame up restoration. It was imported to Canada sometime prior to 2007(?) as a restorable shell and sold to a restorer by the importer. It has since gone through two other owners in the province of Alberta who did very little in the way of further work, other than to change the carburetor but failed to set it up right so it would run. That work is now complete and it runs like a charm. It was purchased earlier this spring by my stepson and brought to it''s current home. When it came to it''s new home, it had, attached, a California licence plate 3GWA123, CA decal Feb 97, #R5473727. We have no idea if this plate is associated with the car, but if any of you CA readers have any way of tracing it, any information would be hugely appreciated. Options: DEALER ADDED AIR, DELUXE SIDE VIEW MIRROR, AM RADIO.
Comments: This car was purchased at Doyle-Fischer Ford by a Mr. Guy Jones of McKinney, TX. In 1985, it was sold to his estate to a TX classic car dealer, who then sold it to a garage in Rockland, MA. It remained there until July 1989 when I purchased it, making me the second private owner. It is a rust-free car, mostly original, save for a nice paint job in 1998 in its original color. The car is garage kept, only taken out in good weather, usually to a car show or cruise night. If anyone has any other info about the history of this car, I would love to hear it. Options: I purchased this car new in early October 1962. It also had tinted glass, radio, heater, WSW tires and came with 1956 15" type full wheel covers. I later added 1963 XL full wheel covers with spinners and 1963 amber turn signal lenses. The car came with a 4 barrel carb., I made a switch with another 406 and changed to 3X2/6V carburation.
Comments: I sold the car in 1964. I raced it once, it turned 13.65 at 105 MPH. this was with 4.10 gears, Hurst linkage, open exhaust and trailing traction masters. I sold the car to a young guy and saw someone else driving it a year later in Lombard, IL and it looked a little rough. I wonder if it still exists? It was a great car.
