1/5/2017 - For Sale - For Sale, I'm parting out a 62 Galaxie 500 4 door. The car has a complete and unmolested 292 Y block with automatic trans and A/C with every little piece still in place, ps, pb, generator, starter, clips etc. The car ran fine until 97 when it was parked. Most of the trim is real nice. Has some of its tinted glass (windshield and rear glass broken and radiator stolen by neighborhood kids). Front fenders are good, grill is bad, hood is bad. Trunk lid has not been opened yet so not sure of the condition yet, nice on the outside. Dash is completely intact and all wiring is good. 9 inch rear with hardened 28 sline axles, case is not nodular. Contact me with your needs. 12/27/2015 - For Sale - 1 owner (South Texas) 1962 Galaxie 500 for sale. I saved this car from the salvage yard. It was parked in the owners garage in 1986 and stayed there until he passed away and I got it in 2012. It has a 362[edit 352?], with a 3 speed on the column. I brought it home, cleaned & flushed motor, did oil change and new: plugs, wires, distr cap & rotor, valve cover gaskets, all new cored radiator ($500!), w/ new cap,ignition switch, solenoid, ignition coil, belt, water pump, hoses, brand new tires as well (and some old school crager wheels + the original hubcaps). Runs and drives but it keeps getting hot on me. I have done a pressure test and every other test but nothing appears to be leaking (ie..head gasket?). Appears to have factory a/c (or dealer a/c from way back when) and the compressor still spins freely. It is all original but I have primed the body because the paint was really rough (originally green w/ green int). It has rust and I cut out a small section of the floor. I ripped the headliner out but otherwise interior is there just rough. Has 2 small dents but does not appear to have ever been in any real accident. I can provide the factory info if you contact me and I have tons of pictures. I was thinking of making a rat rod out of it but thought perhaps someone out there might have a soft spot for this one. 9/15/2014 - For Sale - This custom Galaxie is a 292 y - block v8, all original with automatic trans original. 44K original miles and had 100% no rust or rot. I took a bunch of before pictures then I stripped it all, fixed a few dings and had it painted metallic "caramel" on top and Camaro racing stripe satin black on body (interior panels painted as well. trunk painted with undercoat black). Stainless in very good shape. Things that are new: Fuel pump and filter, Dual exhaust, Supreme rims, tires, black carpet, front lower springs (new 3" drop not cut) and shocks, lowering blocks in rear, mirrors, trunk mat and side panels, front and rear speakers, dash knob bezels, steering wheel cracks fixed, dome light bezel, '62 impala antennas that both are hooked up, am radio sent out to be modernized but looks like the old am radio (plays am, fm and has aux wire in glove box for ipod etc), emblems on trunk new, fuel pump, fuel filter, all stainless in great shape and rechromed both bumpers, front fender spears, front hood emblem, inner top sail panels, outer top sail panels, door handles. Interior redone in color combo and white to match the rolls and pleats seats that have been redone. The car runs great, smooth, and stops real good for all around stock drum brakes. I prefer the 352 or 390 with automatic in rangoon red, white, silver or ming green. The main criterion is that it is a good solid car with a top I don't have to replace and an interior and carpets that are in good shape. The car should start easily and run strong with no mechanical or body issues. I would like an am/fm radio if possible and either stainless or painted skirts. 5/27/2012 - For Sale - 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 2-dr HT. Red/red interior. 406-tri-power-4-speed(side loader)/ new stock linkage. Car was a Y-block, 3-speed car new but all is new. Motor is a .60 over 390, heads have been redone by famous Ford drag racer, Animal Jim. Cam is a little bigger than a 427 solid lifter and sounds great and runs well/9.3 compression so will burn pump gas very well. Disc brakes on front andnew drum brakes on rear and dual master cylinder in all new lines. Excellent driver condition and needs nothing at all!! Only drove the car maybe 200 miles in the last 2 years and is alway out of the weather in in heated shop in winter. Just no time for the car as i am concentrating on my 64 Galaxie NSS drag car. 10/14/2011 - For Sale - I have a 1962 406 block for sale. The casting number on the block is C2AE-6015-J, and the date code is 2C27 (March 27, 1962). It has been cleaned and magged, and everything checked out good. There are no cracks, damage or repairs. It is standard bore and has a slight ridge. The main caps I have for it are not the originals, but they are a correct, complete set of EDC main caps. I live in Central California. 7/21/2009 - For Sale - 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door,(VIN 2G62W158674) This car is barn fresh located in Jacksonville, Arkansas. It has a 292 and a 2 speed auto transmission, which is missing some of the accessories (waterpump, generator, carb) but is still in the car. This car was parked in 1969 and place on blocks with only 3180.4 total miles. This is one of those rare finds in which this is a numbers matching unmolested car. The interior other than having been exposed to the elements is complete. The body is straight with very little damage, all the exterior trim is still there and in fairly good shape. The suspension is missing the front spindles,(They were used many years ago to make a trailer), but does still have the rear end installed with the stock 3.00 gears. All the glass is in good shape other than the front windshield it has a crack. I have pictures that I will email to those interested. Asking $ 2000.00. 1/15/2009 - For Sale - FOR SALE. Registry number 17. I am selling my recently frame off restored factory 406/405 hp Tripower 500/XL. Money wasn't an object when I restored this car. Every nut, bolt screw was restored. The car is a California yellow plate car built of course at the Los Angeles plant on August 9 1962, the last day of production for the '62 year. I have the ORIGINAL build sheet that I personally removed from the passenger door panel.(it was stapled to the inside panel. I spent two years compiling NOS parts to make this a 100 point car. This is as nice as it gets. The body was rust free when it was media blasted and the engine is numbers matching. The only up-grades are front disc brakes, but if you want it original I have the 3" drum front brakes for the car. No modifications were done to the brake lines or car for the front brakes.The brakes can be restored to by just swapping the spindle with the drums. This car came with the 390 cu. in 401 HP engine, 4 speed trans, 4:10 gears, chestnut in & out, bench seat, 42K, padded dash & radio. I bought this car after graduating in the summer of 1962, had a lot of fun, won a lot of races, got a lot of tickets, burned up a lot of gas. ( .25$ a gallon ) My brother destroied the engine in a late night race in 1963. I replaced it with a 406-405 HP. engine. I let my cousin drive it when he was visiting and he spun a bearing. i parked it for a few years at my folks house when some of the neighbor kids broke out the rear window which allowed the rain in for a few years. built a shed and moved it back home in the early 70’s. it was stored until the 90’s at this time my son thought he would restore the car removed the engine and took it to a machine shop which went broke and closed the doors and was never seen again. At this time I put it back in the shed and built around it, I will have to remove a wall and a lot of junk to get it out, I can’t open the door to get the vin but I know the options the car came with. I am debating on selling, restoring or buying a big block create motor and turning it into a non stock hotrod now that I have the time and money to do so.
