The new panels on the passenger side quarter panel are now welded in. After grinding down the welds they were covered with a layer of short strand fiberglass. The fiberglass was then ground down to a thin layer. Then my friend, Wayne, found the low spots by sanding the bare quarter panel in various cross hatch patterns. He then ground the low spots lightly so the body filler would have something to grab hold of, and then spread the body filler in the low spots.

Short strand fiberglass is put over the ground down welds to help keep moisture out of the welded area.

Wayne searches and marks the low spots and then body filler is spread over the low spots.
